Within walking distance of Downtown Wake Forest, Traditions is a beautiful neighborhood with the accessibility of a city neighborhood while retaining the openness and privacy of a suburb. A stone fence engraved with “Traditions” welcomes you into the neighborhood and leads you down a street to the majority of the properties. Thick trees stand on the opposite side, acting as a beautiful natural barrier between the development and the Wake Forest Reservoir, to the west.
Where Is It?
Traditions is located about two miles outside Wake Forest, which is convenient for both the amenities that the city provides, as well as the proximity to the business hub for commuting purposes. The neighborhood is just under 20 miles north of Raleigh and short of 25 miles east of Durham, giving commuters another opportunity at a manageable drive into and out of the cities. Traditions lies just between Smith Creek and Dunn Creek, which pumps life into the neighborhood and makes the wooded areas around the development seem alive and full of energy.
What’s To Do?
Being so close to Wake Forest gives Traditions residents quite a lot of opportunities to be active in the community and take part in many recreational activities. J.B. Flaherty Park is just north of the neighborhood and offers many fun opportunities to both children and adults. The park offers a playground, sporting complex, dog park, and pavilions for picnics and gatherings. Heritage itself offers residents a pool to cool off in during the hot summer months and a small playground of its own for younger children. Heritage also boasts an outdoor amphitheater for community events and parties. Falls Lake is also close by, offering swimming, boating, fishing, and more.
Shopping and Dining
Just across I-98 lies the Gateway Commons plaza, which offers up a line of shopping and dining establishments, including Lowes Foods, Dollar Tree, China Wok, Complete Pet Care and Animal Hospital, and more. Down the street, in Wake Forest, Domino’s Pizza, Hardee’s, CVS, Olive Garden, Brigs at the Forest, Smithfield’s, and several others are included in the dining and shopping locations.
Schools in the Area
Wake Forest Elementary School, Wake Forest Charter Academy, and Franklin Academy High School are within the immediate area. Richland Creek Elementary is located a few miles farther north and Wake Forest Middle School is a few miles south. Many other private and charter school options are also available in the general area close to Traditions.
