DISCOVER SUNSET RIDGE
Just east of Downtown Holly Springs, Sunset Ridge is a comfy neighborhood full of cul-de-sacs and trees. Nicely kept lawns and landscaping are characteristic of the landscape as you travel past the impressive houses on either side of the smooth street. The houses are spaced far enough apart for each to stand alone and have its own space, yet close enough together to promote a strong community within the development.
Where Is It?
The Sunset Ridge neighborhood is just two miles west of Downtown Holly Springs, 10 miles south of Cary, and six miles north of Fuquay-Varina. Holly Springs Road represents the northernmost edge of the development, while Sunset Lake Road represents the east most. Sunset Ridge is within comfortable commuting distance of Raleigh, and it’s only 30 miles to both Durham and Chapel Hill.
What’s To Do?
Bass Lake Park is positioned just south of Sunset Ridge and provides residents with great recreational opportunities. Bass Lake boasts shore-fishing fun, a hiking trail, and a huge central pavilion. The pavilion may be rented out for weddings, proms, and other special events such as birthday parties. Just to the east of the neighborhood is Sunset Lake, which the area is named after, and the lake itself provides many similar recreational opportunities as Bass Lake. Devils Ridge Golf Club, while not actually part of Sunset Ridge, is located directly next to it and gives residents access to its facilities. Jones Park is just a five minute drive down the road and features a fully loaded playground, picnic pavilions, and a disc golf course for endless outdoor fun. Sunset Ridge features a swimming pool for relief from the warm summer days, as well as a tennis complex for both working on that backhand and just having fun. Middle Creek Park is a few miles to the east and provides many sports amenities, such as a softball complex and multipurpose fields. Middle Creek High School also produces Broadway-style musicals and plays, which are open to the public to see.
Shopping and Dining
Many different stores and eateries are a short drive from Sunset Ridge. Lowes Foods and The Dollar Tree are located just off of Bass Lake Road, at the Holly Springs Road intersection. In the same location is Bass Lake Draft House for a finer sit-down dining option. Olive Garden, Chick-fil-A, Sonic, Burger King, ACME Pizza, and Home Grown Pizza are all within a 10 minute drive from the neighborhood. Similarly close are many favorite shopping options, including Target, Kohls, Marshalls, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Big Lots. Being so close to both Holly Springs and Fuquay, if you were to drive a little farther in either direction, there’s easy access to each of the town’s offerings.
Schools in the Area
Holly Ridge Elementary and Middle School are within walking distance of Sunset Ridge, located just outside of the development. West Lake Middle and Middle Creek Elementary and High Schools are a few miles to the east and all offer suitable education opportunities to children and young adults in the area.
