About Grove Park

Situated within eastern Durham, NC, Grove Park is a welcoming subdivision surrounding a picturesque lake and golf course. Grove Park is bordered by Wake Forest Highway to the north, Holder Road to the south, and Sherron Road and South Mineral Springs Road to the east and west, respectively.

This planned community is governed by a homeowners association (HOA) that secures property values while simultaneously providing access to an abundance of amenities. Grove Park residents join forces with Durham city police to maintain and enforce its Neighborhood Watch program, ensuring the safety and security of its inhabitants.

Grove Park is conveniently located about 20 minutes from the Durham city-center and the esteemed Duke University. The neighborhood is also in within a relatively easy commute to the Research Triangle Park and the Raleigh-Durham International airport. Shopping and dining is easily accessible along Wake Forest Highway/Route 98.

Although a subdivision within a suburban setting, residents of Grove Park can escape to downtown Raleigh in order to experience the urban atmosphere and then have the luxury of returning to the comforts of their own home by the lake.


The Grove Park lake is open year round for its residents with catch and release recreational fishing only. Operating on a seasonal schedule, the neighborhood’s lakefront swimming pool is open during late spring to fall, while residents have year round access to a walking trail, volleyball and tennis courts, and a newly renovated fitness center which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Also featuring new renovations, Grove Park’s onsite clubhouse is available to rent for private events. The Crossing, a semi-private golf club offering memberships as well as daily rates for the public, is to the north of Wake Forest Highway and boasts an 18 hole course designed by Ron Garl.


Although a sizable community as a whole, Grove Park contains a couple of smaller neighborhoods dependent upon location. Homes surrounding the lake are designated as Lakeside, whereas Linkside denotes homes closer to the golf course, along Oak Grove Parkway. Home prices range from the affordable $100,000’s to over $200,000 for increased square footage, amenities and location.

Lakefront views may warrant an increased budget as opposed to being closer to the highway. Initially established in the late 1990s, the subdivision is continually being built upon and improved.


Grove Park residents have the option of educating their children through the public school system or within one of the the many private schools throughout the area. Durham Public Schools (DPS) encompasses several specialty schools with focuses including the arts and engineering.

DPS even has a Hospital School which supports and continues to provide education to students with health conditions which may prevent them from attending a traditional school setting and maintaining regular attendance.
