Here are helpful questions and answers to help you understand Durham Real Estate Representation.

Why A Durham Real Estate Representative?
A Durham Real Estate Representative works for you and only you. The representative has NO legal or other responsibilities to the Seller. When working with a Durham Real Estate Agent Representative, you have the advantage of personal representation, independent counseling, loyalty, confidentiality and trust. This differs from a general Durham real estate agent. Although the Durham NC real estate agent can help you present an offer, then negotiate and close a transaction - the Durham real estate agent also has certain fiduciary responsibilities to the seller.

Why do buyers need the help of a Durham Real Estate Representative?
When buyers work with a Durham real estate agent who is 100% loyal and committed to their interests, the entire real estate buying process delivers a higher level of buyer satisfaction. Marti recommends to never buy Durham NC real estate without support from a qualified Buyer's Representative in Durham NC.

Can a Buyer's Representative show me any available Durham real estate properties?
Yes. A Buyer's Representative can show you every home listed in the REALTORŽ's Multiple Listing Service (MLS), Durham Real Estate Owned (REO) and Durham Real Estate For Sale By Owner (FSBO). Additionally, a Buyer's Representative can show and represent you when you're considering a model home, or building a custom home and all new Durham real estate communities and even unlisted homes.

Will a Durham Real Estate Representative disclose more information to me?
Absolutely. A Durham Real Estate Representative's responsibility is to be forthcoming with any negative aspects about certain real estate in Durham NC that you are considering. This is where the experience of our Durham real estate agency really counts and continues throughout the inspection periods.

Does a Durham Real Estate Representative make decisions for me?
No. As the real estate agent acting on behalf of your best interests, a Durham Real Estate Representative is obligated to provide you with specific information about existing and new real estate in Durham NC. That may include the Durham NC real estate agent disclosing specifics about location, property values, offering price, negotiations, counteroffers, contingencies, loan financing and closing costs. Armed with this vital and detailed information, the Durham real estate agent will help you make decisions about homes for sale that are right for you and your family.

Does a Durham real estate agent negotiate the details?
The negotiation process is often when your Durham real estate agent proves to be most valuable. Our Durham real estate agents are fully qualified and highly skilled in the complicated negotiations and financing queries that precede the closing of most transactions for Durham real estate.

What is an Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR)?
An "ABR" is the official certification for professional Real Estate Buyer's Agent. This designation indicates significant training and experience in the specialized field of Real Estate Buyer's Representation. Only a fraction of the Durham real estate agents in the industry have an ABR designation.

In Durham's early days the town was centered around the "Bull Durham Tobacco Company". The name "Bull Durham" had been taken from the bull on the British Coleman's Mustard, which was being manufactured in Durham, England. The rapid growth and prosperity of the Bull Durham Tobacco Company, and Washington Duke's Duke & Sons Tobacco Company, created rapid growth for the city as well as real estate in Durham, North Carolina. Much of the early Durham real estate and city architecture, both commercial and residential, dates from the period of 1890 - 1930.

Trinity College, was established in Durham NC in 1892, and was transformed into Duke University in 1924 on a large endowment from James B. Duke to honor his father, Washington Duke. The original campus of Trinity College would become the Women's College, and a new campus was built in the forest west of Durham. The city did not experience the same early increases in Durham real estate development as did neighboring Raleigh and Cary. The Durham real estate market and residential growth began to occur again in the 1980s, as Durham real estate investors hired builders to construct multiple Durham homes and Durham real estate developments in the southern part of Durham. Adjacent to Research Triangle Park, real estate in Durham continued to grow and downtown development became revitalized. A new downtown baseball stadium was constructed for the Durham Bulls in 1994, and a large-scale historic renovation of the American Tobacco Company, near the Bull Durham baseball complex began in 2003.
